Introduction to Fiber Optics

This course provides complete, general knowledge of the uses and advantages of fiber optics for communications, along with installation details and current fiber optic installation standards. It combines lecture sections with animation along with hands-on videos showing the proper methods to handle, prepare, and terminate fiber optic connectors and mechanical and fusion splices.
This course is quite valuable to management and salespeople who are starting to receive requests for fiber optic work or installations. The types of cable, where they can be legally used, and the planning of a fiber installation is discussed and demonstrated.
This course also provides basic technician requirements, tools, safety & equipment, and the materials necessary for producing proper fiber optic techniques.
